CRTB is a component of the rolling stock and ensures the smooth and safe running of the locomotive. Therefore maintenance of this bearing plays a vital role in the upkeep and safety of the railways.

CTRB bearings require a lot of dedicated maintenance as it can be condemned if any cracks surface. Therefore these bearings are involved in a detailed periodic overhauling at different dedicated timelines. It has the following distinct features:

  • Long bearing life: The raceway profiles of wagon bearings are designed to optimise the load distribution and sustain high temperature peaks at very high speeds along the contact surface. These bearings ensure reduced roller end stress and instances of misalignment.
  • High load & heat bearing capacity: The rollers are designed in a compact assembly, keeping dimensional and geometrical tolerances, which ensure equal distribution of surface and roller end stress. This helps optimal load distribution for heavy axial loads.
