CSR Approach

NBC is committed to Corporate Social Responsibility in a serious and sustained manner. Societal and environmental changes present us with risks as well as opportunities. Knowing where we can make a meaningful impact sits at the heart of our CSR policy. While the CK Birla Group has always been committed to an abiding and active philanthropy, and NBC, as a part of this larger vision has enacted corporate social responsibility since its established, a formal CSR Policy was defined in 2012 and plays a key role in shaping sustainable business strategy. It has four main objectives:

CSR Governance

The importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) at NBC is reflected by the vigorous governance structure and frameworks. A governing board comprising the top management of the company, shoulders the responsibility of overseeing all CSR initiatives. Members include Heads of Department (HoDs) of all divisions of the company. The board is ably supported by a ten member cross-functional team (CFT)- hand-picked employees that ensures effective execution and implementation. The team, in collaboration with professional CSR consultants, conceptualizes, implements and reports on the performance and sustainability of the company’s CSR activities.

Community Initiatives

NBC community initiatives are employee driven and help the workforce to continuously engage with non-government organizations, government administration, social entrepreneurs as well as other business enterprises through focused developmental initiatives In the Way Forward, NBC proposes to empower underprivileged women and children, and execute extensive plans in the fields of environment, education, healthcare and safety focused on the Rajasthan hinterland.

Under Mission Anupam, NBC aims to make Jaipur a green city, and has adopted several areas to nurture and beautify.

To promote Road Safety in Jaipur, NBC has presented 250 barricades, 10 traffic-control umbrellas and several beat boxes to facilitate and assist traffic police.

NBC conducts annual Health camps for families of employees as well as the needy public.

NBC promotes Sports by conducting sports events for the employees and the citizens of the city and providing field facilities to clubs, educational institutions and community organizations.
